Ad Hoc Art is a gallery and creative fulcrum dedicated to showing work that is often marginalized by the larger New York art scene. It is a venue for artists who are passionate, committed to their craft, and challenging the boundaries of a “Fine Art” isolated from society at large. Artists shown at Ad Hoc Art include BAST, Gore B, John Breiner, Molly Crabapple, Brendan Danielsson, Michael De Feo, Ezra Li Eismont, Ellis G., Gaia, Billy Mode, Josh MacPhee, Heiko Muller, Peripheral Media Projects, Lady Pink, Chris Stain, Swoon, Skewville, Elbow Toe,Unplate, Genevive Zacconi
AD HOC ART evolved out of a long-time vision of Garrison Buxton and Ray Cross, founders of Peripheral Media Projects {PMP}. PMP, a creative think-tank and studio, collaborates, builds, and conspire with some of the sickest artists in the world. AD HOC ART came not only from their desire to encourage, support, and illuminate these people and ideas that were outright amazing and relevant, but also to emphasize the difference between high-quality work made without intention and heart and that of high-quality work made by groups and individuals with tenacity, vision, enthusiasm, and soul. As things seem to be spiraling out of control in our world, people yearn for some sort of meaning in the beauty and madness of it all. AD HOC ART brings the world the art and vision that satisfies that yearning.
