“Disruptive Quest for a Goldfish”
A Multi-Media Project
ARTIST STATEMENT
“Disruptive Quest for a Goldfish” is a documentary film projection of the related journey of Coco Dolle’s performance team fully costumed and propped up in their gears as they are driving on their way to perform and invade Miami Art Basel in December 2008. This project was designed to represents a quest for an ultimate destination blurring the boundaries between reality and choreography. A pyramidal multi-media structure will be hosting the film as part of Fountain Miami 2009.
BIO
Coco Dolle works in performance, photography, drawing/painting, video and audio to explore themes and interpretations of utopian ideals and iconic fantasies. Her works has been shown at Mary Ryan Gallery, Deitch Project’s Art Parade and at many art fairs including Fountain Art Fair, art collectives BOFFO and Brooklyn is Burning. In 2008, she created a group of women “Amazon” performers choreographed under the name of ‘Legacy Fatale’. Selected press includes BlackBook, The New York Times, Daily Candy, and ArtForum Diary.
