August 5 – New York – Fountain Miami, the installation based exhibition of avante-garde galleries, announces one of its past exhibitors will be included in the Metal Ball at the Museum Of Arts and Design this October. We-Are-Familia will include an art object similar to its well known Keep Sake Boxes at the Museums annual exhibition. The inclusion of We-Are-Familia in this Museum  marks the increased interest Fountain has developed since its inception.

Fountain Miami 2010, the 5th year anniversary of the show organized during Art Basel 2006, will entail 22 projects from galleries and artists collectives around the globe.  Running from December 2 – 5, the four day art fair is set to receive in excess of 6000 visitors.

The Art Fair has already accepted the majority of its exhibitors and only a few spaces are still available. The deadline for application is September 1. Interested parties can apply online at http://www.fountainexhibit.com/invite/

Fountain Miami will be held in the same location as the past 3 years.  2505 North Miami Ave. is a spacious 11,000 sq ft warehouse adjacent to several other major art fairs.  Booth sizes range from 300 – 700 sq feet with high ceilings.

Fountain Miami 2010 will take place December 2 – 5 2010 during Art Basel Miami Beach.  Housed in the same location for the past 3 years, 2505 North Miami Ave. is a spacious 11,000 sq ft warehouse adjacent to several other major art fairs.  Booth sizes range from 300 – 700 sq feet with high ceilings.

We are currently hosting three types of spaces: full sized booths, mini booths and artists installations.  Deadline for applications is September 1st, 2010.

New York (March 20, 2010)- Fountain, the alternative art exhibition known for presenting cutting-edge and independent galleries, returned to New York for its 4th edition, with 6,000 visitors, 20 exhibitors and independent projects in a sprawling 10,000 sq. ft. venue. Fountain once again bombarded Pier 66 and the Frying Pan with its brash, off-the-wall aesthetic, solidifying its status as a must-see during Armory Weekend.

In its most successful incarnation to date, Fountain brought in over $125,000 in art sales and garnered praise from dozens of media sources. According to NBC, “Scope’s fine, and The Armory is grand, but during this here Arts Week, we’d like to suggest you skip both and head to Fountain Art Fair…the artists displaying their multimedia wares here are true avant-garde upstarts…Saturating your eyeballs with new imagery while listing on a rusty boat? Also longstanding Fountain participant Christina Ray Gallery (formaly glowlab) won the Pulse Viewer’s Choice Award.

After a successful VIP Preview benefiting the Museum of Arts and Design, Fountain opened its doors to the public and kept the boat rocking with Friday night’s opening reception, featuring Brooklyn-based band Depreciation Guild, with internationally renowned ADULT. headlining. New York (February 25, 2010) – The 4th edition of Fountain Art Fair New York, a reckless abandon of the art fair model, will run opposite The Armory Show this March 4th -7th. Fountain will showcase 20 exhibitors and independent projects in a sprawling 10,000 sq ft venue on Pier 66 aka The Frying Pan. Fountain New York, is an alternative art exhibition known for presenting cutting-edge and independent art galleries.

Benefiting the Museum of Arts and Design, Fountain will opens its VIP and press preview on March 4th from 11 AM – 7 PM. Ticket proceeds go directly to the museum. Public access to the exhibition begins Friday March 5th at 11am there will be an evening event starting at 7pm with performances by ADULT and Depreciation Guild. Artlog Live, the digital art happening will take place Saturday March 6 with Marky Ramone from The Ramones as DJ the event starts at 7pm.

Fountain’s Friday night (March 5th) public opening reception will be full of exciting bands and performances. Fountain is proud to announce headlining band, ADULT. Internationally adored ADULT is an electro band from Detroit, Michigan that integrates vocals with drum machines, analog synths and electronic/punk elements. The band consists of husband-and-wife Adam Lee Miller and visual artist Nicola Kuperus. Also on the bill is Brooklyn’s indie rockers Depreciation Guild, members of Pains of Being Pure at Heart. Radio sponsor, 101.9 RXP, will be on site. 7pm-Midnight.

On Saturday, March 6th, Fountain hosts the new media icon ARTLOG LIVE. An evening dedicated to the rants and raves of the online tastemakers who keep us in the know with mobile updates. The celebrity guest DJ for the evening will be the legendary Marky Ramone of The Ramones, 7pm-Midnight.

Amongst several art projects and exhibits presented, Fountain in association with Christina Ray Gallery, is pleased to present Idea For the Here and Now, a group exhibition of limited edition prints to benefit Transformazium, an emerging collaborative arts center in Braddock, Pennsylvania. Artists include Cara Siik Benedetto, Jacob Ciocci, David Ellis, Espo, Emma Hedditch, Ayanah Moor, Jose Parla and Swoon. For the benefit, local and internationally-renowned artists have donated a short “Idea for the here and now”: doings, imaginings, practices and interactions geared toward the transformation of resources into tangible social and economic benefits for small communities and the world at large. The ideas have been collected and designed as limited edition, hand-pulled screen prints in the Braddock Screen Printing Shop. Each signed print is available at Fountain and remains sealed in an envelope until purchased.

The Idea For the Here and Now print series represents a unique opportunity both to collect the ideas of highly-sought-after artists and to support a ground-breaking initiative to rebuild a post-industrial city on principles of collaboration, creativity, ingenuity and pure hard work. Transformazium is an active formation of artists, designers, inter-activists, fledgling farmers, visitors and residents of the 15104 area, launched by legendary artist Swoon and her collaborators in 2007. One hundred percent of proceeds from the exhibition will benefit repairs to Transformazium’s headquarters – a reclaimed, condemned church building on its way to becoming a center for arts programming and skill-building workshops. Fountain was founded in 2006 as an attempt to leverage support for smaller independent galleries to gain access to larger collectors and critics. Since its inception Fountain has held 4 exhibitions in Miami, One in Chicago and is preparing for its Fourth exhibition in New York.

New Projects Are Added As Prestigious Museum Partners With The Fair.

New York (February 1, 2010) – Now in its fourth year, Fountain Art Fair is the alternative pick for NYC’s 2010 Armory weekend. In recognition of Fountain’s growing importance on the international art circuit, the Museum of Arts and Design, which is currently hosting the critically acclaimed exhibit of cut paper works, Slash: Paper Under the Knife, will partner with Fountain for the VIP Preview Day on Thursday, March 4, from 11am to7pm at Pier 66 in Chelsea (26th Street and Hudson River Park).

Fountain will open its doors on March 4 exclusively for MAD and VIP guests providing a first look at the 20 diverse projects incorporated in the art fair. The latest project proposals to have been accepted include NYC based collective The Art Bazaar, Glowlab’s Swoon Benefit for the Braddock PA Studios, Zeitgeist Gallery’s exhibit from Paris, the Brooklyn based project Open Ground, Baltimore based Nudashank Gallery, and We-Are-Familia which will be displaying their keep-sake boxes and work from Whitney Biennale 2010 artist  Rashaad Newsome. 

The VIP Preview Day will directly benefit MAD and a limited number of tickets will be available on-line on both the Fountain and MAD websites.

The final list of Fountain’s exhibitors will be released later this week as the fair recently completed its submission phase on January 29th.

Fountain Announces The First Six Galleries To Participate

New York (January 21, 2010) – Brash and adventurous, Fountain Art Fair unleashes a dynamic layout for Pier 66 aka the Frying Pan which yields monstrous booth sizes for gallery installations. 10 booths measuring 270 – 900 square feet, 9 private installations and two underground lounges, give the art fair termed “guerrilla” and “off the wall”  a creative environment in which to  explode March 4 – 7 during the Armory Art Show weekend.

Fountain standards, Leo Kesting Gallery, Glowlab and Greg Haberny will showcase new works alongside Creon Gallery (NY,) ArtSlant (LA,) Temporary States (NY) and Holster Projects (London) are the first seven projects to be announced for the fair. Stay tuned as more will be announced soon.

New York (January 13, 2010) – Fountain New York, the alternative art exhibition known for presenting cutting-edge and independent art galleries, sets up shop at Pier 66 for its latest installment during the Armory this March 4 – 7. Fountain is a guerrilla-style art event, dubbed by many as the “Anti Art Fair” for its brash, off-the-wall offerings of non-traditional art exhibitions in the art fair environment.

Recruiting avant-garde galleries who showcase progressive primary-market works, Fountain returns for its 4th year in New York, giving gallery-goers and art enthusiasts the opportunity to see new works without traditional booths or selection juries. Fountain New York will showcase 11 cutting edge galleries and 7 private artists installations.
